"Alber's Equal Area Conic for Russia", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Vector maps: Areas of continuous cultivation are represented by polygons. Territories used for cultivation that are situated far from general area are represented by points.

Accuracy of qualifier:

Maps were created using generalized, regional information about species distribution from published sources.

Mapping procedure:

The distribution area map was made using published data (Tulupnikov, 1960; State, 1994, 2004). For the territory of the former USSR, the distribution area extends as far north as 60° of northern latitude (Kobylianskij and Lukjanova, 1990), but it is cultivated mainly in regions with mild winters: Central Asia, the Northern Caucasus, Transcaucasia, southern and southeastern Ukraine, and Moldova (Vehov, 1978; Korenev et al., 1990). Within Russia, crops are grown in the Krasnodar Territory, the Rostov region, and Kalmykia (Dankova, 1988). Sites of barely growth situated far from the base area are marked by points.
