Map was created using a map of the gardens of the USSR with the scale of 1:20,000,000.

The projection:

Vector maps: Areas of continuous cultivation are represented by polygons.

Accuracy of qualifier:

Maps were created on the base of generalized information about species distribution from published sourses (accuracy till regions).

Mapping procedure:

The distribution area map was created using published data (Tulupnikov, 1960; State, 1994, 2004). The distribution area within the former USSR covers the Lower Volga regions (Samara, Volgograd, Rostov), Moldova, Krasnodar and Stavropol krais, the Northern Caucasus, Transcaucasia (Azerbaijan, Georgia), Kazakhstan, the republics of Central Asia, Altai, and Eastern Siberia (Dorofeev & Korovina, 1979; Bujukli, 1983; ).
