Basic contents:

Vector map. Area of species distribution and zones of disease severity are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Loose Smut of Oats has wide ecological adaptability and can develop under temperatures from 0-5 to 31-35 C degrees above freezing. Consequently the fungus is capable of infecting oats successfully in all of its growing zones. Disease severity zones are not marked since disease severity is related to extent of prophylactic protective measures, such as chemical treatment of seeds. The zone of loose smut distribution, which coincides with regions of oats cultivation, is presented on the map.

Method of map production:

Scientists were given maps with boundaries of Oblasts and arable lands. After reviewing historic literature, species distribution was hand drawn on maps. If data were on the Oblast-level, distribution is on the Oblast level. In some cases, Oblast.s are further refined by boundaries of the Arable Land Map (Koroljeva et al., 2003). Hand drawn maps were scanned, georeferenced and vectorized.
