Basic contents:

Vector map consisting of 4 thematic layers, where area and zones of disease severity are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

In the disease area the zones of low (to 35%), moderate (35-60%), and high incidence (60% to 100% of plants affected by the Black Leg) are outlined. Zones of severity are defined according to instructions of Pozhar Z.A. (1959).

Method of map production:

Area and zones of severity are outlined on blank map according to analysis published in open literature. Borders of zone of distribution and zones of severity of the Black Leg in Central Black Earth region (Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Tambov, and other Regions); in a number of Regions of the Central region (Orel, Bryansk, Tula, and other Regions); in Nizhnii Novgorod and Samara Regions, in Bashkiria, Tatarstan, Western Siberia, Ukraine (Vinnytsya, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Chernihiv, and other Regions) are recorded based on data given by Z.A.Pozhar (1963), Popova I.V. (1968, 1969), and Baklushina V.V. (1971); in Altai the borders are given according to Orekhova (1985); in Kirghizia, Al.khovskaya (1969), Dotsenko (1985); in Baltic States, Byelorussia, and the Northern Caucasus, Gorlenko (1980). Registration and vectoring of raster maps are executed by standard means of GIS-technologies.
