Date of creation:

26.01.2007.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of map:

It is created on information taken from the open published literature and maps of scale 1: 33 000 000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map consists of three thematic layers describing a zone of distribution and zones of high and moderate severity of the disease on cabbage.

Accuracy of the classifier:

The area represents the disease distribution where the Slimy Bacteriosis of Cabbage has been revealed according to scientific publications. The zone of moderate severity of this disease is determined in those regions where amount of diseased bacteriosis plants reaches 5-15%; in the zone of high severity, it is 16% or more.

Method of map production:

The map is compiled by results of the analysis of the open published materials. The disease is widely distributed in all territories of the former USSR, where this culture is growing; i.e., in the Rusaian Federation (Vzorov, 1938a, 1938b; Gorlenko, 1947,1949; Sal.nikova, 1957; Izrail.skii, 1960; Avezdzhanova & Bushkova, 1968; Nikitina & Studentsov, 1971; Osnytskaya, 1971; Izrail.skii & Shklyar, 1979; Kiryukhina, 1980, 1982; Spaar et al., 1980; Osadchuk, 1984; Bilai et al., 1988; Semenova, 1989; Starikov, 1995; Vanyushkin, 1990; Lazarev, 1990; Mashara & Pshebesh, 1990; Rogachev, 1991; Mashara et al., 1994; Dzhalilov, 1996; Akhatov et al., 2002; Pavlyushin, 2004), and also in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaidzhan, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine (Vzorov, 1938a, 1938b; Ishpaikina, 1954a, 1954b; Khalilova, 1969,1970; Nitievskaya, 1973; Giorgobiani & Tsilosani, 1974; Dorozhkin & Kunevich, 1980; Kunevich, 1981; Kunichenko, 1985; Puipene, 1988; Puipene & Grigalunaite, 1988; Sil.vanovich & Sil.vanovich,1990; Popov, 1996, 1997, 2005; Sidlyarevich et. al., 1998; Giorgobiani et al., 2001, 2005; Marchenko, 2005). The zone of moderate severity of this bacteriosis includes Leningrad, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Pskov, Novgorod, Tver, Moscow, Tula, Ryazan, Vladimir, Smolensk Regions (Avezdzhanova & Bushkova, 1968; Lazarev, 1990; Rogachev, 1991; Pavlyushin, 2004). The zone of high severity includes Astrakhan, Volgograd and Saratov Regions, Krasnodar, Stavropol and Primorskii Territories, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan (Ishpaikina, 1954a, 1954b; Sal.nikova, 1957; Giorgobiani & Tsilosani, 1974; Dorozhkin & Kunevich, 1980; Kunichenko, 1985; Bilai et al., 1988; Vanyushkin, 1990; Mashara & Pshebesh, 1990; Mashara et al., 1994; Popov, 1996, 1997, 2005; Giorgobiani et al., 2001, 2005; Marchenko, 2005). Specification of configuration of borders of the disease area is executed on a map of distribution of cabbage, proposed by N.V. Terekhina (2004).
