Date of creation:

19.01.2007.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of map:

It is created on information taken from the open published literature and maps of scale 1: 33 000 000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map consists of two thematic layers describing area of distribution and zone of high disease severity on carrot.

Accuracy of the classifier:

The area represents the disease distribution, where the Bacterial Blight of carrot has been revealed according to scientific publications. The zone of severity is determined in those regions, where infecting agent causes yield losses above 10% of economic threshold.

Method of map production:

The map is compiled by results of the analysis of the open published materials. Wide distribution of the disease is shown on the map in all territories of the former USSR, where this culture grows; i.e., in the Voronezh, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk Regions, in the Altai and Primorskii Territories, in Republic of Altai (Vzorov, 1938a, 1938b; Izraelskii, 1960; Gerasimov & Osnitskaya, 1961; Kiryukhina, 1980; Rybalko, 1986, 1988, 1990; Rybalko & Samokhvalov, 1985,1990; Bilai et al., 1988), and also in Moldova (Kunichenko, 1985), Kazakhstan (Vzorov, 1938b; Gorlenko, 1966; Chumaevskaya & Gorodilova, 1974), Georgia (Tsilosani & Tukhareli, 1981), Ukraine (Dao Kim Oan, 1985; Borodai, 2005). The zone of high disease severity is distinguished, including Ukraine, Western Siberia (Altai Territory, Tomsk, Kemerovo and Novosibirsk Regions), Republic of Altai and Primorskii Territory within the limits of the bacteriosis area, where this bacteriosis arises sporadically, and more than 10% of plants may be affected (Dao Kim Oan, 1985; Rybalko, 1986, 1988, 1990; Rybalko & Samokhvalov, 1985, 1990). Specification of the area and disease severity zone borders configuration is executed according with the map of carrot distribution (Doronina, Terekhina, 2005).
