Basic contents:

Vector map consisting of 2 thematic layers, where area and zone of severity are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of qualifier:

In the disease area the zone of high severity (more than 25% of gourd plants are affected by the Anthracnose) is outlined. The zone is marked according to method by A.E.Chumakov & T.I.Zakharova (1990).

Procedure of map drawing:

The zone of disease severity is shown on a blank map on the base of published references. In hothouses it is the most nocuous disease in the Northwest (Leningrad, Vologda, Novgorod, Pskov Regions), Central area (Vladimir, Ivanovo, Moscow, Kaluga, Smolensk Regions), Volga-Vyatka area (Nizhnii Novgorod Region, Chuvashia and Mari El Republics), Western and Eastern Siberia (Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Chita Regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory), in the Far East (Amur and Sakhalin Regions) (Osnitskaya, 1968; 1969; 1970; 1971). In open ground the Anthracnose is more nocuous disease on gourd cultures in the Northern Caucasus (Chechnya, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories), in Rostov and Volgograd Regions (Natalenko, 1966), in Khmel.nytskyi, Poltava, Mykolayiv, Kiev, Vinnytsya, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson Regions of Ukraine, in Crimean Republic, and in Moldova (Verderevskii, 1968; Lopukhina et al., 1977). In these regions to 30-100% of plants are affected, the disease development reaches to 50%, and yield reduction reaches to 48% (Osnitskaya,1970).
