Scale:

1: 20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Created based on information taken from map of scale 1: 33,000,000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR" 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Vector map composed of 4 thematic layers shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

The area of distribution is divided into zones of high, moderate, and low severity. In the zone of high severity the disease is widespread, its development is 50% and more, and yield losses reach 20-30%. In the zone of moderate severity the disease development is not more than 50%; in the zone of low severity the disease occurs infrequently and sparsely.

Method of map production:

The area of distribution and zones of fungus severity were drawn according to results of an analysis of published data. The zone of high severity includes the Far East of Russia and areas of Forest-steppe of Ukraine; moderate severity is marked in the Northern Caucasus, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, Volga Basin region; low severity and single appearance of the disease are marked in Moldova and Central Black Earth zone of Russia (Zaostrovnykh et al., 2003; Zaostrovnykh, 1984; Kashuba, 1984; Podkina, 1981; Prostakova et al., 1983). Based on these data, the zone of disease distribution was corrected along vector layer by I.E. Koroleva et al. (2003). Vectoring of the scanned raster map was carried out using standard GIS-technologies.
