Date of creation:

15.03.2007.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of map:

It is created on information taken from the open published literature and maps of scale 1: 33 000 000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map consists of four thematic layers describing a zone of distribution and zone of high disease severity on bean.

Accuracy of the classifier:

The area represents the disease distribution where the Common Bacterial Blight of Bean has been revealed according to scientific publications. The zone of high disease severity is determined in those regions where epiphitotics arise sporadically, and more than 20% plants are diseased.

Method of map production:

The map is compiled by results of the analysis of the open published materials. The disease is widely distributed in all territories of the former USSR, where this culture is growing; i.e., in Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, Rostov Region, Kabardino-Balkaria, Northern Ossetia, Chechnya, the Far East (Vzorov, 1938; Gorlenko, 1947, 1949, 1966; Gerasimov & Osnitskaya, 1961; Izrail.skii, 1960; Gorlenko, 1971; Kiryukhina, 1979; Shpaar et al., 1980; Chumaevskaya, 1982; Korsakov, 1982; Bilai et al., 1988; Pavlyushin, 2006), and also in Georgia, Abkhazia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, in Ukraine (Vzorov, 1938; Bel.tyukova, 1949; Gerasimov & Osnitskaya, 1961; Kazenas, 1965; Balashova, 1966; Labukhua et al., 1966; Shpiler, 1966, 1975; Chumaevskaya & Gorodilova, 1974; Kunichenko, 1985; Bilai et al., 1988). The zone of high disease severity is distinguished, including Moldova and Shymkent, Taraz, and Almaty Regions of Kazakhstan (Gerasimov & Osnitskaya, 1961; Kazenas, 1965; Balashova, 1966; Gorlenko, 1966; Shpiler, 1966; Chumaevskaya & Gorodilova, 1974; Kunichenko, 1985). Specification of configuration of borders of the disease area is executed on a map of distribution of the bean, proposed by Terekhina N.V. & Buravtseva T.V. (2003).
