Accuracy of map.

Created based on information taken from open-published literature and maps of scale 1: 33,000,000.

Projection:

Basic contents:

Vector map composed of 2 thematic layers. Zones of distribution and severity are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Within the disease area zones of low and high severity were allocated. In the zone of low severity the disease appears annually at the end of the vegetation period. In the zone of high severity the disease appears in dry hot years during the entire period of vegetation.

Method of map production.:

Two zones of severity of the Powdery Mildew of Pea were allocated based on the analysis of published literature data. Period of appearance of the disease on crops serves as a criterion of the area division. In the zone of low severity the disease area based on development with cool damp weather is presented. Appearance of the disease in this zone coincides with the end of vegetation of plants (Brundza, 1961; Baibakova, 1971; Makasheva, 1973; Mikhailenko, 1971). In areas of high severity the disease develops with high temperatures and low humidity. Development of the Powdery Mildew of Pea is observed during the entire vegetation period (Dorozhkin et al., 1978; Evdokimova et al., 1992; Korobeinikova et al., 1964).
