Basic contents:

Vector map. Distribution and zones of disease severity are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier

Area of disease distribution has been subdivided into 3 zones of disease severity: In areas of high severity, disease occurs 3 to 4 times per decade and injects 60-90% of leaf area. In areas of moderate severity, disease occurs 3 to 4 times per decade and infects 30-50% of leaf area. Areas of low severity can have disease every year but at low frequency, only 0-20% of leaf area is infected. Zones of disease severity are based on Ishkova et al. (2000), Sanin (1995), Gaike (1976), Kashemirova (1995), Klimenko (1994), Kushnirenko (1987), Hasanov (1992), and Novozhilov and Zakharenko (2000).

Method of map production:

Published literature was reviewed, including Atlases, monographs and papers. Occurrence data were obtained from herbarium specimens, floras, monographs and papers. Data were then compiled through scanning and geo-referencing to develop a composite vector map. The biologist, together with the GIS specialist, drew a composite weed distribution area based on compiled data.
