Basic contents:

Vector map. Zones of distribution and harmfulness are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Within the area of Septoria secalis a zone of high harm (10-40% losses of yield) is outlined

Procedure of map drawing:

The area and high harm zone of the Septoria Leaf Blotch have been drawn on a blank map with a zone of rye distribution, which has been compiled, using a vector layer from the map kit of I.E. Koroleva, E.V. Vilchievskii and D.I. Rukhovich (2003). The zone of high harmfulness (10-40% losses of yield) is allocated by results of analysis of the data published for various administrative regions of Russia (Markiavichius, 1986; Kovalenko, Skuratovska, 1987; Borzionova et al., 1991; Ishkova et al., 2002; Levitin, Tyuterev, 2003). Some administrative regions are included in the zone, belonging to the same eco-geographical region (after The State Register, 2002), as the administrative regions with known disease harm. The area of rye includes regions with the crop area being more than 3-5% in agricultural lands. Therefore, in some cases the disease area falls outside the limits of the major distribution of rye. Field observation by plant pathologists testifies that climatic conditions of the region are favorable for the disease development, even if the areas of rye are insignificant. The map has been scanned. Its registration and vectoring is executed by standard facilities of GIS-technology.
