Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map was created based on materials of maps of natural scale 1: 12,000,000-1: 45,000,000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic" 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0

Basic contents:

Vector map. Zones of distribution and harmfulness are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Within the area there is a zone of the highest harmfulness (more than 80%).

Method of map production:

Zones of distribution and harmfulness were identified according to analysis of published cartographical materials. A map from A.F. Korshunova et al. (1976) was used as a basis with corrections and additions for main zones of wheat growing determined according to the following sources: the Volga Basin (Mikhajlina, 1970; Benken, Zhukova, 1974), Ural (Tumanova, 1981; Hatskevich, Nesterov, 1994), Siberia (Shevchenko, 1970; Chulkina, 1973; Hatskevich et al.,1977), Uzbekistan (Goldshtein, Baigulova, 1972), Kazakhstan (Dzhiembaev, Alzhanov, 1970). The zone of the highest harmfulness was outlined based on the map by A.F. Korshunova et al. (1976). Two open published original maps of the area and zones of harmfulness were scanned. Registration and vectorization of raster maps were executed using standard facilities in MapInfo Professional v. 6.5 and Idrisi32.
