Vector map consists of two thematic layers describing area of distribution and zone of high disease severity on wheat.

Accuracy of the classifier:

The area represents the disease distribution where the Basal Bacteriosis of Wheat has been revealed according to scientific publications. The zone of high disease severity is determined in those regions where epiphytotics arise sporadically, and 20% or more plants are diseased.

Method of map production:

The map is compiled by results of the analysis of the open published materials. Specification of borders of the disease area is executed on a map of distribution of the wheat, proposed by I.E. Koroleva et al. (2003). Wide distribution of the disease is shown on the map in all territories of the former USSR where this culture grows; i.e., in the Central Black-Earth zone of Russia (Voronezh, Kursk, Belgorod, Tambov, Lipetsk, Orlov Regions), in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, in the Leningrad, Ivavov, Tver, Rostov, Moscow, Kirov, Volgograd, Saratov, and other Regions, in Western Siberia, Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia (Vzorov, 1938a, 1938b; Oksent'yan, 1948; Izrail'skii, 1960; Gorlenko, 1960, 1977, 1979; Khavritsina, 1967, 1976; Schneider & Ilyukhina,1975, 1976; Ilyukhina,1976a, 1976b,1978,1979,1980,1990; Khavritsina et al., 1976; Schneider et al., 1976, 1980; Artemenko, 1977; Sidorenko et al., 1977a, 1977b; Voronkevich, 1977; Spaar et al., 1980; Bilai et al., 1988; Pavlyushin, 2005; D'yachenko, 2006), and also in Odessa, Mykolayiv, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Kiev, and other Regions of Ukraine (Oksent'yan, 1948; Sidorenko et al., 1977b; Peresypkin et al., 1980; Suleiman Akhmed Beg Nabil, 1987; Pasichnik et al., 2005), in Minsk, Mahilyow, and other regions of Belarus, in Kazakhstan (Izrail'skii, 1960). The zone of high disease severity is distinguished, including Central Black-Earth zone of Russia (Voronezh, Kursk, Belgorod, Tambov, Lipetsk, Orlov Regions), Rostov, Saratov, Volgograd Regions, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia, Kazakhstan (Khavritsina, 1967, 1976; Schneider & Ilyukhina,1975, 1976; Ilyukhina, 1976a, 1979, 1980, 1990; Khavritsina et al., 1976; D'yachenko, 2006). Specification of the area and disease severity zone borders configuration is executed according with the map of wheat distribution, proposed by I.E. Koroleva et al. (2003).
