Date of creation:

12.04.2007.

Scale:

1:20 000 000

Accuracy of map:

It is created on information taken from the open published literature and maps of scale 1: 20 000 000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map consisting of 2 layers. Area and zone of damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Zone of low damage only is allocated within the limits of general area. Here the pest usually has low economic significance.

Method of map production:

The map is compiled by results of the analysis of the open published materials (Mishchenko, 1980; Tanasiichuk, Zlobin, 1981; Klimanova, 1971; 1975; Narchuk, 1980; etc.). The area is outlined within the Primorskii Territory according with the area of wild relative of the rice, Zizania latifolia (Smekalova T.N. & Bagmet L.V., 2005), which is the main host for A. oryzae (Klimanova, 1971). The species records by some authors on its distribution in Eastern Siberia, in the south of Ukraine and in the Northern Caucasus are not confirmed by taxonomists, not accompanied by the morphological description of insect development stages, by data on its bioecology and trophic specialization; they are not included into the map. The low damage zone coincides with area of rice crops in Primorskii Territory (Rukhovich D.I., 2003), being outlined after the data of N.K. Klimanova (1971, 1975) and I.YA. Polyakov et al. (1980).
