Date of creation:

25.06.2003.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

Created using maps of natural scale 1: 12 000 000 and 1: 33 000 000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic", 99, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Vector map consisting of 4 layers and a legend. Area and zones of harm are shown as polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

The geographic area is divided into zones of high, moderate and low damage according to routine methods of plant protection. In the zone of high damage the population density is 10 to 50 inhabited holes per hectare of agricultural lands, and to 300 in places (in the centers of high numbers); in the zone of moderate damage the population density is 3-5 inhabited holes per hectare of agricultural lands, and to 50 in places (in the centers of high numbers); in the zone of low damage the population density is 1 to 10-15 inhabited holes per hectare of agricultural lands.

Method of map production:

Two open-published original maps of the area and zones of harmfulness were scanned and used as a base map (Flint et al., 1970; Polyakov, 1975). Registration and vectorization of raster maps were executed by standard facilities of GIS. Corrections were made according to Flint et al., 1970.
