Authors:

Date of creation:

20.08.2004.

Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map was created using a map of scale 1:40,000,000, information taken from literature, and collections of the Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Projection:

.Alber.s Equal Conica for the USSR., 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map, which consists of 2 thematic layers. Area of distribution and zone of pest damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Within the area of distribution, only a zone of low damage, in which the pest damages fruit plants, was established. In the zone of low damage, no more than 40 adults occur per one fruit tree in spring.

Mapping procedure:

Published data were used for allocating the distribution area and zone of pest damage. The distribution area map was based on the collection of the Zoological Institute RAS. Localities of the species were marked in the coordinate system on a blank geographical map using standard GIS-technologies. It is known [Arkhangel'skii (1928), Dobrovol'skii (1951), Avet'yan (1952), VasilТev (1955), Samedov (1963), Zayanchkauskas (1984)] that Neocoenorhinidius pauxillus sporadically injures orchard trees in Lithuania, Ukraine, the Rostov Region, the Stavropol' Territory and the Caucasus. Borders of the zone of low damage were modified to include economically significant areas of fruit crop cultivation within the distribution area of Neocoenorhinidius pauxillus.
