Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

It is created on materials of the map with scale 1:33 000 000 on the basis of information taken from literature and by the analysis of the collections of the Zoological Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Projection:

.Alber.s Equal Conica for the USSR., 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map, which consists of 2 thematic layers. Area of distribution and zone of damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Threshold of harmfulness of the F. rectirostris is approximately 1 adult per 1 tree in cherry orchard (Prokof.ev, 1987). Within the area of distribution, the zone of low damage is established according to the extent of damage to cherry tree. In the zone of low damage, harmfulness of F. rectirostris is sporadic and usually insignificant.

Method of map production:

M.E. Ter-Minasyan.s (1936) map is used as a basis for the map of distribution of F. rectirostris. In the former USSR, the area includes the European part from Leningrad Region, Karelia and Komi Republics in the north (Ioannisiani, 1972; Makarov & Shorokhov, 1986; Silfverberg, 1992; Isaev, 1994; Poiras, 1998; Dmitrieva, 2005) southward to Ciscaucasia (Arzanov, 1989). In Asiatic part, it includes the South of Western and Eastern Siberia including Buryatia and southern Yakutia (Korotyaev, 1977; Babenko, 1982; Legalov & Opanasenko, 2000), Amur Region and Primorskii Territory (Egorov, 1979), and eastern part of Kazakhstan (Baitenov, 1974). The zone of low damage comprises areas of cherry-growing in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine (Vasil.ev, 1974) and Altai Region (Babenko, 1982). Correction of the area borders has been made after vector map of the cherry tree distribution (Terekhina, 2005), the zone of low damage has been adjusted after the vegetation map of the USSR (Vorob.eva, 1986).
