Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

It is created on materials of the map with scale 1:33 000 000, on the basis of information taken from literature.

Projection:

.Alber.s Equal Conica for the USSR., 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map, which consists of three thematic layers. Area of distribution and zones of damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Threshold of harmfulness of forest cockchafer in the grub phase is 1 exemplar per square meter (Vasil'ev, Livshits, 1984.). Zones of high (10 and more grubs per square meter) and low (1 to 10 grubs per square meter) damage are distinguished within the pest areal on the basis of expert estimations of injury of fruit crops.

Method of map production:

Data from the publications are used for allocation of area and zones of pest damage. The areal map is based on publications of Berezina and Stark (1936), Polozhentsev (1952), Polozhentsev and Troitskii (1963), Grishina (1966), Rozhkov (1968), Vasil.ev and Livshits (1984), Gninenko (1998), Negrobov (2000). Forest cockchafer is widely distributed in forest part of Russia from its western boundaries to Yakutia and Primorye, is also found in Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. On the Former Soviet Union Territory, zone of high damage includes eastern Ukraine, in Russia - Voronezh region, Mari El Republic, north of Bashkortostan Republic, Tyumen region, central and western Novosibirsk region, Altay Territory. Zone of low damage includes part of areal for the exception of zones of high damage on the level of Smolensk - Kirov - Nizhniy Tagil - Tyumen - Barabinsk - Pavlodar - Kushmurun - Uralsk - Donetsk. Boundaries of the zones of damage are given according to the following works: Berezina and Stark (1936), Gninenko (1998), Grishina (1966), Polozhentsev (1952), Polozhentsev and Troitskii (1963) Rozhkov (1968). The pest damage zones are corrected according to the map of plough land distribution (Koroleva et al., 2003).
