Date of creation:

18.10.2006.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

It is based on materials of the map with scale 1:33 000 000, using the information taken from literature.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Conica for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map, which consists of three thematic layers. Area of distribution and zones of damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Threshold of harmfulness of Common Cockchafer in the grub stage estimates as 1 specimen per one square meter (Tanskii, 1985). Zones of low (1 to 10 grubs per square meter during high density period) and high (over 10 grubs per square meter during high density period) damage are distinguished within the pest area. Pest outbreaks within the area bounds have irregular frequency.

Method for map production:

Data from the publications are used for allocation of area and zones of pest damage. The area map is based on publications of Merzeewska (2001), Tsinovskii (1957), Dmitriev (1969), Vasilpev, Livshits (1984), Negrobov (2000), Gavyalis (1970), Mishnev, Gorbunov (1984). The species is found almost everywhere through the territory of Baltic States, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, the West of Russia. The zone of high damage includes Moldova, Western and Central Ukraine. The some part of Central Ukraine, Belarus, south of Latvia and Lithuania, the west part of Russia up to the line Belgorod - Kursk - Briansk is the zone of low damage. The boundaries of the damage zones are given according to the following works: Dmitriev (1969), Vasil'ev, Livshits (1984), Negrobov (2000), Gavyalis (1970), Mishnev, Gorbunov (1984). They are corrected according to the map of plow land distribution (Koroleva et al., 2003).
