Scale:

Accuracy of the map:

It is created on materials of the map with scale 1:33 000 000, on the basis of information taken from literature.

Projection:

.Alber.s Equal Conica for the USSR., 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map, which consists of 2 thematic layers. Area of distribution and zone of damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Threshold of harmfulness of the Tychius aureolus in bud formation period of alfalfa is 5-8 adults per 1 sq.m. Within the area of distribution, the zone of low damage is established according to the extent of damage to alfalfa. In the zone of low damage, T. aureolus harmfulness is 1 point under the 5-point scale of harmfulness (Polyakov et al., 1983).

Method of map production:

Data from the open publications are used for allocation of area and zone of pest damage. In the former USSR, the area of the T. aureolus includes Latvia (Silfverberg, 1992), Belarus (Ioannisiani, 1972), Moldova (Poiras, 1998), Ukraine (Petrukha & Globova, 1974), the European part of Russia (Ponomarenko, 1949; Efleeva, 1961; Korotyaev, 1983; Isaev, 1994), the South of West Siberia (Legalov, 1994; Legalov & Opanasenko, 2000), the Caucasus (Arzanov, 1989; Ismailova, 1993), Middle Asia and Kazakhstan (Ioannisiani, 1972; Baitenov, 1974; Nasreddinov, 1975). The zone of low damage comprises territory of the alfalfa growing, in the steppe zone (Ponomarenko, 1949; Polyakov et. al., 1983).
