Accuracy of the map:

It is created on materials of the map with scale 1:33 000 000, on the basis of information taken from literature.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:
Vector map, which consists of 2 thematic layers. Area of distribution and zone of high damage are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

It is a quarantine object with high harmfulness in vineyards.

Procedure of map drawing:

Data from open publications are used for allocation of area and zone of the pest damage. A map of the area is based on publications of Printz (1965), Marechek (1966), Shamonin & Smetnik (1986), Vasyutin (2003). A map by Kazas, Gorkavenko & Poichenko (1960) is used as a basis for map of Viteus vitifolii area. The localities of the species are marked in coordinate system on blank geographical map with the layer of viticulture distribution (after Koroleva et al., 2003) by standard means of GIS-technologies. In the former USSR the area includes Moldova, part of Ukraine, basin of the Don river and the Caucasus. Area of the pest includes zones of continuous and sporadic distribution (Printz, 1965). Zone of continuous distribution includes Moldova, part of Ukraine westward of Dnepr river, western part of Krasnodar Territory, all Georgia, northern part of Armenia, and NW of Azerbaijan. Zone of sporadic distribution includes most districts of Crimea, Ukraine eastward of Dnepr river, Rostov Regions Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories of Russia, Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, Daghestan. The zone of high damage includes territory of grape growing inside the area of pest distribution.
