Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

The map is based on data of a 1:25 000 000 scale map, specified according to herbarium materials.

Projection:

"Albers Equal-Area Conic Projection for USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0

Basic contents:

The map is a vector file consisting of 1 basic and 2 subject layers. The species range is represented by a polygon and dots.

Accuracy of the qualifier:

The dots represent information on the species localities: reliable data according to herbarium (1) and published sources (2); the polygon - generalized information on the species distribution from published sources and herbarium specimens.

Method of the map construction:

The range of Atriplex cana is constructed on the base of herbarium materials of LE, with account of a published map of the range part (Koropachinskiy, Vstovskaya, 1983). The final range consists of a polygon and dots. The polygon is situated in steppe and semidesert zones north of the Caspian and Aral Seas, and stretches throughout Kazakhstan to Altai Mountains in the east. The species penetrates to the desert zone along the Syr Darya River. In the southeast, the species occurs in abundance in the Ili River - Balkhash Lake area, Tien Shan Mountains (Kungey Alatau, Ketmen, Terskey Alatau, Dzungarian Alatau). In the northeast, the species penetrates to the southern West Siberia. The species is very rare in Crimea and Caucasus. Dots beyond the polygon borders represent local species localities.
