Exactness of classifier:

Light-colored points are locations referenced in literature sources. Dark-colored points are locations of the species that were as reported from created database VIR (N.I.Vavilov All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Industry) and BIN (the Komorov Institute of Botany).Polygons are based on literature sources, herbarium samples, political boundaries and ecological description.

Method of map construction:

For construction of the area of Avena cultiformis the published map of the part of the area (Grasses of Ukraine, 1977) and herbaria data (Komarov Botanical Institute (BIN), (St.-Petersburg), N.I. Vavilov All Russian Institute of Plant Industry (VIR), St.-Petersburg) were used. According to literary data the species has distributed across Ukraine and European part of Russia (Flora of the USSR, 1945; Flora of the European part of the USSR, 1974; Tzvelev, 1976; Brezhnev, Korovina, 1980).
The presented area created by data generalization is one polygon (green line). The definition of area border is based also on literary data (Flora of the European part of the USSR, 1974) according to which the species occurs in Volga and Don River.s areas.

Sources of the data:

Cereals of Ukraine. 1977. - Kiev: Naukova Dumka,- 518 pp. (in Russian).
