Accuracy of the map:

The map is based on data of 1:20 000 000 and 1:25 000 000 scale maps, corrected according to herbarium materials.

Projection:

Basic contents:

Map is a vector fail consisting of polygon and points. Locations of species are represented by points; area of possible distribution of species are represented by polygon.

Accuracy of the qualifier:

Light-colored points are locations referenced in literature sources. Dark dots represent information on the species localities according to herbarium materials of V.L.Komarov Botanical institute [LE].Polygon is based on generalized information from literature sources, herbarium specimans, political boundaries and ecological description.

Method of the map contruction:

In the former USSR, the species is distributed in the Caucasus, mainly in the middle motane zone where it occurs as a component of mixed broad-leaved forests. The species range is represented by the polygon embracing the dots of its actual localities. The materials to draw the range were herbarium specimens of LE and published maps of the species range (Moesel, 1965; Sokolov et al., 1977). The species localities outside the range border are indicated with dots. They are single localities in the habitats not typical to the species, most often in gardens, parks and other man-made plantations, since the species is cultivated as an ornamental plant.
