Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map is based on data from herbarium specimens and on maps having the following scale 1:13,000,000.

Orojection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for Russia" 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0

Basic contents:

Map is a vector file consisting of polygon and points. Locations of species are represented by points, area of possible distribution of species is represented by polygon.

Accuracy of classifier:

Points represent locations of the species referenced in literature sources and from herbarium specimens. Polygon is based on generalized information from literature sources and herbarium specimens.

Method of map production:

Species location data were obtained from a database of site coordinates of the species in the INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM "Wild-growing relatives of cultural plants of Russia " (NTC "Informregistr" № 0229905883, 1999) and from map published by A.A.Grossheim (1939). Western and northern borders of the area were constructed using information on herbarium specimens, which is kept in a database IRS. Southern border of the area was drawn in accordance with map published by A.A.Grossheim (1939).
We suggest that isolated from the basic polygon, a single location in Middle Asia should not be included in the final area.
