Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map is based on data from herbarium specimens, on literature sources and on maps having the scale 1:13,000,000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for Russia" 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0

Basic contents:

Map is a vector file consisting of polygons and points. Locations of species are represented by points, areas of possible distribution of species are represented by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Points represent locations of the species referenced in literature sources and herbarium specimens. Polygons are based on generalized information from literature sources and herbarium specimens.

Method of map production:

The data on distribution of the species were obtained from database of site coordinates of the species in the Information Retrieval System "Wild-growing relatives of cultural plants of Russia" (NTC "Informregistr" #0229905883), published maps of Grossgeim (1939) and list of locations published by G.T.Sidorjenko for "Flora of the Tajik SSR" (1957).
Borders of the area are mainly according to Svjazeva's maps (1980) and corrected on the basis of herbarium materials stored in a database of the Information Retrieval System "Wild-growing relatives of cultural plants of Russia" (1999). In Siberia the eastern and southeastern borders are constructed based on Kurbatsky's maps (1988). Northern border of area on Kopet Dagh and western border on Pamiro-Alai have been expanded on the basis of herbarium materials. In Transcaucasia borders of the area are indicated according to Grossgeim's data (1952); in Talysh borders of the area are based on Grossgeim's data (1952) and corrected on the basis of herbarium materials.
We suggest that points beyond the border of the polygon on peninsula Mangyshlak (Kazakhstan) shoud not be included in the basic area.
