Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map is based on data from herbarium specimens, on literature sources and on maps having the scale 1:15 000,000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for Russia" 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0

Basic contents:

Map is a vector file consisting of polygons and points. Locations of species are represented by points, areas of possible distribution of species are represented by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Points represent locations of the species referenced in literature sources and from herbarium specimens. Polygons are based on generalized information from literature sources and herbarium specimens.

Method of map production:

The data on distribution of the species were obtained from database of species site coordinates in the Information Retrieval System "Wild-growing relatives of cultural plants of Russia" (NTC "Informregistr" #0229905883), and published data of Galushko (1978) and of Tzvelev for "Red Book of the RSFSR (plants)" (1988).
The species has a disjunctive area. The borders of the Crimean part of the area are established on the basis of herbarium materials, stored in a database of the Information Retrieval System "Wild-growing relatives of cultural plants of Russia" (1999). Borders of polygons on Caucasus and in the European part of Russia are constructed according to "Red Book of the RSFSR (plants)" (1988) and expanded on the basis of herbarium materials. We suggest that confirmed herbarium materials collected from isolated locations beyond the border of the basic area not be included in the final polygon.
