Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

The map is based on data of 1:50 000 000 - 1:80 000 000 scale maps, specified according to herbarium materials.

Projection:

"Albers Equal-Area Conic Projection for USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0

Basic contents:

The map is a vector file consisting of 1 basic and 2 subject layers. The species range is represented by polygons and dots.

Accuracy of the qualifier:

The dots represent information on the species localities: 1 - reliable data according to herbarium and published sources; the polygons (1) - generalized information on the species distribution from published sources and herbarium specimens.

Method of the map construction:

The data from the herbarium materials of LE, published maps of the range (Hulten, Fries, 1986; Yurtsev, 1986), and published data (Shishkin, Bobrov, 1948; Fedorov, Tzvelev, 1987; Polozhij, Malyshev, 1994) were used for constructing the range of Hedysarum arcticum. The species volume is cited according to the treatment of the species by V.I.Kurbatskiy (Polozhij, Malyshev, 1994). The ground of the range construction was made by the map of the species range in "Arctic flora of the USSR" (Yurtsev, 1986). The range map of the aggregate species Hedysarum hedysaroides after Hulten, Fries (1986) represents the species concept, which includes both the Arctic sweetvetch, and South Siberian sweetvetch (H. hedysaroides (L.) Schinz et Thell. subsp. austrosibiricum (B.Fedtsch.) Yurtzev); it was used in the part related to the species H. hedysaroides subsp. arcticum. The range consists of one main continental polygon, three insular polygons in Arctic, a polygon in the Kola Peninsula, and dots. The species tends to the Arctic and northern European Russia and Siberia, also occurs locally in high mountains of the East Siberia.
