Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map was created using herbarium specimens and maps of scale 1:20,000,000-1:86,000,000.

The projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for Russia", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Map is a vector file consisting of polygons and points. Locations of species are represented by points, while areas of possible distribution of the species are represented by polygons.

Accuracy of qualifier:

Points represent locations of the species referenced in published sources. Polygons are based on generalized information from published sources.

Method of map construction:

Species location data were obtained from Plehanova et al (1992) and the published maps in Kharkevich (1988). We consider this taxa an independent species, whose volume corresponds with L. caerulea subsp. kamtschatica (Sevast.) Gladkova and whose distribution area is limited to the Magadan area, Kamchatka, Sakhalin and Kuriles (Plehanova et al, 1992). Therefore, borders of the area were corrected in accordance with Plehanova et al (1992). The southern border of the distribution area coincides with the coastal line of both the continent and islands. The northern and eastern borders were mapped using Kharkevich (1988) and Plehanova et al (1992). The western border was mapped in accordance with Plehanova et al (1992).
