Accuracy of the map:

The map is based on data of 1:20 000 000, 1:25 000 000 scale maps, corrected according to herbarium materials.

Projection:

"Albers Equal-Area Conic Projection for USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0

Basic contents:

The map is a vector file consisting of polygons and dots. Localities of the species are represented by dots, the area of species distribution is represented by the polygons.

Accuracy of the qualifier:

Dark dots represent information on the species localities from herbarium collections of LE, the rest (light) dots represent data from published sources.

Method of the map construction:

The species range in the former USSR consists of two polygons and separate dots. The Caucasian polygon embraces single localities of the species in Armenia and is based on the data of a published map of the species distribution in the Caucasus (Grossheim, 1952). The information on the species distribution in the West Siberia and Central Asia was obtained from published data (Polozhij, Malyshev, 1994 - range map; Pavlov, 1961 - points of the species localities cited in the text), and factual data of LE Herbarium. The northern border of the polygon is drawn according to data of LE Herbarium and localities cited in "Flora of Kazakhstan" (Pavlov, 1961); the eastern one - according to data of LE Herbarium and the map published in "Flora of Siberia" (Polozhij, Malyshev, 1994); the western and southern borders - according to points cited in "Flora of Kazakhstan" (Pavlov, 1961) data of LE Herbarium. A dot beyond the polygon borders represents a unique locality of the species, remote from the range outline.
