The map is a vector file consisting of 1 basic and 2 subject layers. The species range is represented by polygons and dots.

Accuracy of the qualifier:

The dots represent information on the species localities: 1 - reliable data from herbarium and published sources; polygon (1) - generalized information on the species distribution from published sources and herbarium specimens.

Method of the map construction:

The data from the herbarium materials of LE, a published map of a part of the species range (Grossheim, 1952) and published data (Grossheim, 1945; Lesins, Lesins, 1979) were used for constructing the range of Medicago littoralis. Within the former USSR, the species is distributed in the Caucasus in coastal zones. The range consists of two polygons and dots. The polygons are located at the coasts of the Black and the Caspian Seas. There are data on solitary localities of the species on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea in the literature (Grossheim, 1945) and in the herbarium, which is represented by a solitary dot in the map.
