Scale:

Exactness of map:

Map was created using maps of scale 1:22,500,000-1:25,000,000.

The projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for Russia", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Map is a vector file consisting of polygons and points. Locations of the species are represented by points, while areas of possible distribution of the species are represented by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Points represent species locations referenced in published sources. Polygons are based on generalized information from published sources.

Method of map production:

Species location data were obtained from maps by Sokolov et al. (1977) and Kharkevich (1991). The natural species distribution area is limited by the southwestern part of Sachalin Island and by the islands of Moneron, Shikotan, and Kunashir. The northern border of the species distribution area passes along these islands. The main part of the species distribution area lies in East Asia.
