Authors:

Date of creation:

23.06.2004

Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map was created using herbarium specimens and maps of scale 1:13,000,000-1:80,000,000.

The projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for Russia", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Map is a vector file consisting of polygons and points. Locations of the species are represented by points, while the areas of possible distribution of the species are represented by polygons.

Accuracy of qualifier:

Points represent species locations referenced in published referenced and locations from which herbarium samples were taken. The polygon was constructed using generalized information on species distribution from published sources and locations from which herbarium samples were taken.

Method of map construction:

The species distribution data were obtained from a database of species locations, the Information Retrieval System, "Wild-growing relatives of cultural plants of Russia" (NTC "Informregistr" № 0229905883), and published maps by Grossgeim (1962), Sokolov et al (1986) and Moesel (1965). The species has a disjunctive distribution area. The borders of the distribution area in the Caucasus were mapped using Grossgeim (1962) and Sokolov et al (1986) and were corrected in accordance with herbarium materials from the Komarov Botanical Institute and the Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Industry (VIR). In Central Asia, the distribution area borders were mapped using Sokolov et al (1986) and herbarium materials from the Komarov Botanical Institute and the Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Industry (VIR).
