Authors:

Object specialist - S.Yu.Larina, GIS-specialist - M.I.Saulich.

Data of creation:

05.05.2003.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

Created using maps of natural scale 1:25 000 000 and larger.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Vector map. Area of distribution is shown by polygons (basic distribution) and by points (sporadic distribution). Zones of weediness are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Areas of distribution and harmfulness of Capsella bursa-pastoris were established according to the analysis of open-published maps and literature. The area of distribution is based on the maps (Hulten et al., 1986); (Volkov, 1935). Sporadic distribution of Capsella bursa-pastoris in the territory of Yakutia were defined by the middle course of the Lena river and its tributaries (Hulten et al., 1986). Area of the main distribution of this species was extended to the Far East - Amur region, Khabarovsk Territory, Primorsky Krai and Sakhalin (Volkov, 1935); (Korovina, 1983). Zones of harmfulness were established according to Nikitin (1983), with the specification in the Far-East region according to Korovina (1983).

Method of map production:

Published literature was reviewed, including Atlases, monographs and papers. Occurrence data were obtained from herbarium specimens, floras, monographs and papers. Data were then compiled through scanning and geo-referencing to develop a composite vector map. The biologist together with the GIS specialist, drew a composite weed distribution area based on compiled data.
