Date of creation:

20.05.2005.

Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map was created using maps of natural scale 1:15,000,000-1:100,000,000 and information from published literature.

Projection:

.Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR., 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Vector map. Area of general species distribution is shown by polygons, while sporadic distribution is shown by points. Zone of weediness is shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Within the weed distribution area, the zones of weediness were shown according to occurrence and abundance (Tanskii et al., 1998), where occurrence of Cyperus rotundus exceeds 50% with an abundance of 4-5 points.

Mapping procedure:

Area was mapped following an analysis of published cartographical materials and literature. The map of A.N. Volkov (1935) was used as a prototype, supplemented by a map of species distribution by A.A. Grossgeim (1940). The northern, southern, western and eastern boundaries of the area were drawn according to A.N. Volkov (1935) and extended according to A.A. Grossgeim (1940) (southern boundary). The sporadic distribution was determined according to A.N. Volkov (1935) and A.A. Grossgeim (1940). The zone of weediness was determined according to V.V. Nikitin (1983), T.N. Ul.yanova (1989; 1993; 1998), A.L. Takhtadzhan (1952), I.T. Vasil.chenko & O.A. Pidotti (1975), and V.V. Nikitin & A.M. Geldikhanov (1988) and was specified according to data on abundance, frequency of occurrence or weediness taken from the below-mentioned references (except Manuals and Floras).
