Object specialist - S.Yu.Larina, GIS-specialist - I.A.Budrevskaya.

Date of creation:

21.06.2004.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of the map:

It is created on materials of maps of natural scale 1:5 000 000 - 1:100 000 000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map. Area of distribution is shown by polygon (main distribution) and by dots (sporadic distribution). Zone of weediness is shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Within the weed area of Neslia panicularta the zones of its weediness are shown - established by criteria of occurence (% of fields where this species is found) and abundance (expressed as projective cover of this species in the field (in % to the field area)) (Tanskii et al., 1998) - where the occurence of this species exceeded 20% with its abundance (projective cover) more than 10%.

Procedure of map drawing:

The areas of distribution and weediness of Neslia paniculata are established according to the analysis of the open-published maps and literature. The area of distribution is based on the map from the publications of E.Hulten & M.Fries (1986) and A.N.Volkov (1935). Northern limit of the area up to Eastern Siberia was extended to that of A.N.Volkov (1935), Murmansk region was included in the main area according to E.V.Shlyakova (1961). The area of weediness is established according to V.V.Nikitin (1983) and coordinated with the limits of arable land. The sites of sporadic distribution of Neslia paniculata, in addition to the data of E.Hulten & M.Fries (1986), are depicted in the north of European part of the Former Soviet Union by E.V. Dorogostaiskaja (1972) and A.I.Tolmachev (1976), in Siberia by L.I.Malyshev & G.A.Peshkova (1994), in the Far East they are established according to S.S.Kharkevich (1988) and T.N.Ulyanova (1977). The sites of sporadic distribution of this species within Caucasus by A.A.Grossgeim (1950) as well as their main part in Siberia (E.Hulten & M.Fries,1986; Malyshev, 1994) and Primorskii Territory (Kharkevich, 1988) are included in the main area, what agrees with the data of A.N.Volkov (1935).
