Basic contents:

Vector map has four layers where the area of sunflower and zones of severity of broomrape are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Within the sunflower area in the former USSR countries, three zones of severity of broomrape are determined. In the zone of low severity of the parasite, crop losses do not exceed 10 % (northern part of Central Black Soil Zone, Middle Volga region, Ural, Western and Eastern Siberia, the Far East). In the zone of moderate severity, losses are up to 30 % (Forest-steppe and Steppe Ukraine; central and southern parts of Central Black Soil Zone, central part of Volga region, Kazakhstan). In the zone of high severity, crop losses exceed 31% (Moldova, southern part of Steppe Ukraine, Crimea; Northern Caucasus and southern part of Volga region; Transcaucasia).

Method of map production:

Published materials are used for map drawing (Kukin, 1982; Pustovoit, 1975,1990; Yakutkin, 2001,2005). The registration and a vectoring of a raster map are carried out by standard means of GIS-technologies.
