Authors:

Object specialist A. Yu. Doronina,
GIS-specialist I. A. Budrevskaja.

Date of creation:

10.12.2003.

Scale:

1:20 000 000.

Accuracy of map:

Created using maps of natural scale 1:15 000 000-1:100 000 000 and information taken from published literature.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic on the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic contents:

Vector map. Area of distribution is shown by polygons (basic distribution) and by points (sporadic distribution). Zone of harmfulness is shown by polygons.

Accuracy of the classifier:

Distribution area and zones of weediness are based on an analysis of cartographic materials published in the literature. Maps from Kharkevich (1989) were used as a base map, supplemented by information from the below-mentioned sources. The northern and western boundaries of the area were outlined according to the same source. Borders of zones of weediness are based on Nikitin (1983).

Method of map production:

Published literature was reviewed, including Atlases, monographs and papers. Data were then compiled through scanning and geo-referencing to develop a composite vector map. The biologist, together with the GIS specialist, drew a composite weed distribution area based on compiled data.
