Date of creation:

20.09.2004.

Scale:

1:20,000,000.

Accuracy of map:

Map was created using maps of natural scale 1:5,000,000-1:80,000,000.

Projection:

"Alber's Equal Area Conic for the USSR", 9, 1001, 7, 100, 0, 44, 68, 0, 0.

Basic content:

Vector map. Main distribution area is shown by a polygon, while sporadic distribution is shown by points. The zones of weediness are shown by polygons.

Accuracy of classifier:

Within the distribution area of Rorippa palustris, the zones of its weediness were established according to criteria of occurrence (% of fields where this species is found) and abundance (expressed as projective cover of this species in the field (in relation to the field area)) (Tanskii et al., 1998), where the occurrence of this species exceeds 10% and the abundance (projective cover) exceeds 15%.

Mapping procedure:

The areas of distribution and weediness of Rorippa palustris were established following an analysis of public maps and state publications. The area of distribution is based on the map by Hulten & Fries (1986). The areas of weediness were established within the zone of coniferous forests using Ulyanova (1998) and coordinated with the limits of arable lands. The sites of sporadic distribution of Rorippa palustris were established primarily by using Hulten & Fries (1986), thoush sporadic distribution was mapped in the Northern Former Soviet Union using Tolmachev (1975, 1976), Dorogostaiskaya (1972) and Rebristaya (1982); and in the Northern Far East using Kharkevich (1988). The sporadic distribution of this species in the Caucasus mapped by Grossgeim (1950) was included in the main distribution area and was confirmed by Hulten & Fries (1986). The sites of sporadic distribution of Rorippa palustris within the Arkhangelsk region and the Republic of Komi (Dorogostaiskaya, 1972; Tolmachev, 1976) were also included in the main distribution area in accordance with Shlyakova (1973, 1990).
